Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion Review

Last week on my Instagram I showed you guys some awesome products I received recently, and one of them was the amazing Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion. I was particularly excited about this product as winter is approaching and I know my skin will be needing some extra TLC in the near future! Aveeno is not a new brand but was recently launched in South Africa in 2017. Aveeno use high-quality natural ingredients in their products (ACTIVE NATURALS^®) which include oat, blackberry, lotus and more! The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is packed with colloidal oatmeal so I was intrigued straight away.

Product: The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is a body lotion that contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal to help moisturise, soothe and protect dry skin. The special formula is said to relieve itchy and cracked skin, returning it to its natural pH balance. The products Active Naturals Collidial Oatmeal promises to lock in moisture and help prevent dry skin

Formula: The formula is very soft and relatively firm. I find it to be less runny that Nivea’s body lotions. Very standard formula with very little scent and a smooth texture. It is also not greasy at all.

Skintypes: The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is suitable for even sensitive skin, and is fragrance free. It is also non-comedogenic (Which means it is formulated not to block pores). So I think this is pretty much an all-rounder and can be used regardless of your skin type.

Fragrance: This product has no fragrance. Which is great if you don’t want it to clash with other scents you’re wearing.

Packaging: For me, the packaging is a little bland. Granted, it is focusing much more on a “natural” look, but I’d love something a little more modern and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. If you looking down an aisle of pretty bottles in Clicks, you’d be forgiven for jumping straight past this bottle which is a pity because it’s a fantastic product!

Use:  It’s said to be really great for keeping dry skin soft and hydrated. I know we’ve all heard of a million creams promising this but I have really enjoyed Aveeno and how my skin feels after using it. I was wondering how oatmeal fits in, and basically the moisturising lotion harnesses the concentrated goodness of finely-milled, naturally active colloidal oatmeal. Oatmeal is a skin protectant active ingredient and can help restore skin’s normal pH and aid in the maintenance of skin’s moisture barrier to help prevent and protect dry skin.

Throughout my life I’ve had a bit of keratosis pilaris on my arms especially in the winter months. While this product doesn’t take that away, it really does help to keep my arms smoother.

What did I think? I really enjoyed this product. It absorbs so easily into my skin (Pet peeve when you’ve gotta rub for days!) and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. I tried it just on one arm for the day, and noticed that arm was still noticeably softer by the end of the day. For me, this product is simple and basic, which is just what dry, sensitive skin prone to irritations needs

Will I buy this product again? Yes. As mentioned I have quite dry skin and am often on the lookout for a well-priced, simple body lotion for daily use. One that doesn’t have an overpowering smell of blueberries or candyfloss (Which is great but can sometimes clash with perfume!).
