My ultimate snack during the busy festive season: TUC Biscuits!

Ladies and gentleman, the festive season is officially upon us. The weather is warmer, shopping malls are bustling with Christmas decorations – and I’ve even heard Michael Buble on the radio. Yes, the festive season is definitely here.

TUC: The Ultimate Festive Season Snack

I don’t know about you, but the festive season is always a blur of work, year-end events, seeing family and friends and soaking up some Cape Town sunshine, of course. I generally find myself on the go, moving from event to event all the while trying to maintain Christmas cheer. Well, maybe I’m the only one but I really struggle with finding snacks to keep me sustained (And not hangry!) throughout this busy time. Recently, I’ve been trying to pack a few goodies in my bag before I leave the house to keep with me throughout the day. And my newest addition to the snack pack? TUC biscuits! I’ve found that having these TUC biscuits in my bag really helps to keep hunger at bay on these busy days and keep me going.

I like to keep an assortment of snacks with me on the go – such as biltong, almonds, fruit and the TUC biscuits. TUC biscuits are available in Original, Cheese or Sour Cream & Onion, so you can keep a variety with you. It makes for the perfect snack to fill the gap between lunch and an evening event. I have to warn you though – these biscuits are very moreish and are so delicious on their own that it’s hard to keep your self-control in check. I especially have to keep them hidden from the hubby!  And we usually have to compete over who gets to have the last one.

The TUC biscuits make great finger foods for entertaining

The festive season is also a time where we generally see friends and family more. I often have friends popping over for a quick visit, or we meet somewhere like the beach or the forest for a picnic. Well, the TUC biscuits are fantastic for entertaining as well. Not only are they super tasty, but they pair fantastically with an assortment of cheeses and fruits. I personally love the original TUC biscuit paired with some thinly sliced creamy gorgonzola topped with some strawberries. Hey, don’t knock the combination until you’ve tried it!

Pairing them with fruits and cheeses is a marvelous idea because there is little to no cleanup afterwards. And summer time is the time for light, finger food type meals where everyone can pick and choose what they love. It’s seriously entertainment made simple! (My type of entertainment!). So whether it’s a simple picnic-style meal or a fancy cheese and wine supper, these really make the perfect addition to your meal. Trust me, your guests will be totally loving you!

I try not to eat too many crackers because when I start it’s so hard to stop!

Oh boy, TUC’s only last for like 5 seconds with me. I would need to stash a few hundred to eat 1 on the way. Because when I start one I eat the entire pack and I just can’t stop. And then I’m thirsty. Damn, now I crave for them again.

I love Tuc biscuits. When I was working full time, Tuc was a staple for me on days when I had no time to make a healthy lunch for myself. I love it most topped with
a tuna salsa loaded with sliced green chillies.

Those snacks are so delicious. I remember a friend sharing them with me some years ago.
