Having Rio has been the greatest experience of my life but I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been challenging! I work for myself so there hasn’t been that traditional maternity leave, but rather a majorly slowed down pace of work that has gradually been picking up as Rio gets a little older. However, I’ve had to totally adjust my way of working and let’s just say the Logitech MK295 has made the situation much easier.
To elaborate, I used to have my working space in an office where i would sit and get work done for hours on end. Any new parent knows the experience of seeing your free time dwindle from hours and hours to minutes – and if you’re lucky, an hour during nap time. Rio loves to nap in his wrap during the day, which makes the only place for me to work comfortably is our kitchen counter on the bar stools (The way he sits in front of me makes sitting at a desk very uncomfortable!) Once I set up the Logitech keyboard and mouse combo in the kitchen, I’ve been able to sit comfortably with my laptop at eye level and my arms outstretched enough. We’ve got a whole little system going!
To top it off, I’m a bit of an awkward leftie and have always found using a trackpad exclusively a bit difficult. Using the wireless mouse has made everything so much easier! To top it off, both the keyboard and mouse are silent (How cool?!) They literally make no sound!! These little work sessions have become a few moments of peace and calm during the day.
Key features of the Logitech MK295 Combo
- The combo is durable and comfortable and features the new SilentTouch technology that removes 90 percent of typing and clicking noises
- The full size keyboard offers a spill proof design, durable keys and sturdy tilt legs with adjustable height for an extra layer of utility and comfort.
- It has a 36 month battery life that reduces the hassle of changing batteries, so you can continue working with lag free wireless ease
- The comfortable and compact mouse features a contoured shape with smooth, precise clicking and pointing, all delivered to you silently. In addition to an 18 month battery life, the mouse includes on and off switch so it’s ready to work immediately.

I think the transition back to working for a new parent is always going to be quite tough. I’m really happy that with the help of this keyboard and mouse set up I’m able to sit comfortably (no more hunching over my laptop keypad!) and use my VERY limited time efficiently. There’s honestly nothing sweeter than little Rio napping happily on my chest, and it makes the “starting to work again” blues a little easier to handle!

I am totally obsessed with it! I have been using it for over a week so and cannot believe how comfortable the keys are!
