Say hello to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range new additions!

Neutrogena is a brand that we have all loved for many years! When I was a teenager, I adored the Visibly Clear range and remember many a trip to Clicks to purchase my favorites. As I’ve gotten older, my love for Neutrogena hasn’t faded and you’ll still find an array of their products on my dresser. Many of them belonging to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range (And that’s if I can find them. As I’ve mentioned on my Instagram many times, my husband adores the Hydro Boost products and steals them fairly regularly!)

So to say I was looking forward to the launch of their new Hydroboost range this past week would be an understatement. The brand has been bringing out some really innovative products lately! So I knew this would be no exception!

The Launch Event

The event was held at the absolutely gorgeous Radisson Red situated in the Silo Square. They’d taken over the rooftop restaurant and bar area which I only sum up with views views views. Cape Town beauty in all her glory. If you’ve never seen a Radission Red, they are the Radissons take on new generation hotels. Described by them as an “ageless millennial mindset through art, music and fashion.”  Such a stunning location for an event, and I must say if it was about ten degrees warmer the rooftop pool would have been beckoning me.

The venue had been done up to the nines with the most striking décor, flower arrangements and a breakfast bar fit for kings and queens. (The granola was to die for!). To warm us up from Cape Town’s chilly wind, cappuccinos were being consumed.  We were all eager to finally hear about these much anticipated products!

There were several speakers who were both introducing the Hydro Boost products as well as talking about the environment and its impact on the skin. Personally I found this very interesting! Especially because I only really think about protecting my skin from the sun. I don’t often think to consider how stress, cold and other environmental factors contribute.

On a side note, it was fantastic to meet the gorgeous Nomzamo Mbatha (the face of Neutrogena) in person. This lady radiates energy and her contagious smile lights the room. You can check out her Instagram here.

So what is special about this Hydroboost and how will it help me?

The Neutrogrena Hydroboost range is formulated with their unique hyaluronic Gel Matrix. This Gel Matrix basically creates an intuitive hydration reservoir that works with the skins natural moisture transport system to actively replenish, restore and deliver hydration where and when your skin needs it.

So what is new in the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range?

Three new and really exciting products have been added to the Neutrogena Hydroboost range. Namely, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Lotion, the Eye-Awakening Gel Cream and the Smoothing Exfoliator Gel.  Other products that already exist in the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range include a cleanser, facial wipes and moisturizers. In moisturizers, they have both the Water Gel and the Gel Cream. (The Gel Cream is more suited for dry skin)

 

Introducing the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Lotion

The City Shield range was inspired by the everyday stresses women face. From pollution and crowded transport, to late nights and work stress, city life can take its toll on the skin. Let alone the negative effects to our skin from excess sun exposure. Even the cold can have a negative effect on your skin! This is even for ladies who spend most of their day in a cool, airconditioned office. Air conditioning can contribute to impaired barrier function and reduced skin hydration with development of dry and even flaky skin texture. The skins barrier function is essential for the maintenance of hydration. In addition, it also aids in the protection against environmental insults – creating a surface “seal”.

The City Shield not only boosts hydration but helps protect the skin from sun damage and strengthens the skins natural defences against pollution and other aggressors.

Its powerhouse of ingridients are:

• Hyaluronic Acid (Working to replenish the skin with a boost of intense hydration)
• Vitamin C (An antioxidant that helps protect the skin against the effects of pollution)
• Helioplex technology (A broad spectrum, photostable SPF25 filter to shield against both UVA and UVB rays)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Smoothing Exfoliator Gel

I’m so excited that Hydro Boost now has an exfoliator! It has a gel texture and contains naturally derived microbeads (yay to no plastic!) that help to gently exfoliate the skin but still keep in moisture. I’m really excited about this because I find a lot of exfoliators can leave your skin feeling quite dry and tight! But this one promises to keep your skin feeling supple and soft. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid like the rest of the range.

Texture:  It’s very soft, with very small fine granules. Feels very soft on the skin and leaves your skin very gently exfoliated. Think I’m going to like this product! 

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Awakening Gel-Cream

This product also has a gel formula and is designed to help banish the tell-tale signs of tiredness such as puffy eyes and dark under eye circles. It’s formulated with the Hyaluronic Gel Matrix to smooth, awaken and revitalise for 24 hours after application.

Life is busy and it is no secret many of us aren’t getting enough sleep each night. Many people are juggling a job, studies and family commitments. This product aims to help you look alert and awake, even if you don’t feel that way on the inside!

Thoughts: Texture feels so different from a usual eye cream – feels similar to a moisturizer almost. This is a product I need in my life so I’ll definitely write a review on this soon
