The Avon Big and Extreme Mascara for longer, fuller lashes

I remember the first Avon mascara I ever used. What had happened was I had actually seen a girl with lashes so long they looked fake, and asked her what mascara she was using. I was pretty surprised when I found out it was Avon SuperExtend. Needless to say I made a purchase promptly. So recently when I received the Avon Big and Extreme mascara, I was intrigued and had high expectations. Would it live up to its name?

The Avon Big and Extreme Mascara is part of the Mark collection by Avon.

Let me start out by saying- I have high standards for mascara. I hate my mascara to crumble and flake, or leave little panda eyes by 5pm. My eyelashes and brows are really light (thanks to my blonde locks) so wearing mascara and doing my brows are an absolute must for me. There are very few people in the world who will see me without mascara. Without foundation, sure. But never without mascara.

Say hello to Avon Big and Extreme Mascara!

What’s unique about the Big and Extreme formula?

The Big and Extreme mascara is the first ever mascara from the Avon range with an innovative elasto-stretch formula. This formula helps to extend your lashes and thickens them beyond your natural lashes and offers 2x more stretch than their traditional formulas. With its unique fiber-free formula, the Big and Extreme is able to stretches your lashes beyond the natural tips without clumping and flaking.

Here you can compare the left eye to the right eye. The length you’re able to build is really amazing!

This formula helps you to be able to build an extreme lash look that will turn heads – and at an affordable price too!

And how’s the wand?

The Avon Big and Extreme mascara comes in a bright orange tube and is fairly round in shape. The mascara wand is rounded in a cylindrical shape and tapers – which I find makes it easier to grip and get control- particularly when you’re trying to get mascara in the inner and outer corners. The brush also has a combination of long and short bristles that twist together to allow you to reach even the shortest of lashes.

The Avon Mark Collection

The Avon Big and Extreme is actually part of the Mark collection. The Mark collection is inspired by artistry, focusing on self-expression and individuality. Mark offers a range of high-quality, innovative products that give women the power to be creative.

My impressions

I really like how this mascara really separates your lashes. You’re able to get product on each lash really nicely, making your lashes look dramatic and tanned out. I find that the formula was very buildable as it claimed to be, so you can easily build the length that you desire. If you’re wanting super dramatic lashes, you can totally apply a few layers and get that effect. But if you’re wanting to tone it down and keep things natural – one layer will look gorgeous as well.

I also found that this mascara doesn’t crumble throughout the day or leave any flaking. The product holds really well and doesn’t leave the rings under the eyes later on the day – which you guys know is my pet peeve!

All-in-all I’m really impressed with this mascara. I took a little browse at Avon’s online brochure and I was super surprised. This mascara is currently on promotion for only R79,95. I can’t believe how well priced this is! You can’t get many great mascaras under R100 – what a super special!
