Oway launches in South Africa – hello gorgeous locks!

There’s a new organic and fair-trade body and skincare range launching in South Africa and I’m all here for it. Ladies and gents, Oway is here and I’m impressed to say the least. My hair is thick and coarse so when I find a product that gives me shiny locks, I stick to it like pure gold. And let’s just say- the Oway Frequent use hair and scalp bath as well as the conditioner has been a firm favorite for a while now. Let’s chat why!

Besides being top quality products, their packaging is amazing too – 100% recyclable!

A bit about Oway

So Organic Way (OWay) originates from Italy and they are the world’s first professional organic hair color, care and styling line with biodynamic, organic and fair trade ingredients. How’s that for an amazing reputation? They are a movement in both hair and scalp health treatment and when I heard they were launching in South Africa, I was SO excited.

This brand ticks all the boxes. Not only are they dedicated to sustainability, their top quality products are cruelty free (PETA certified) too.

The Oway way of life

Oway was founded on stringent and ethical production principles. Their products formulas are 100% high-quality and the range has been designed to transform hair in the most pure and natural yet effective way possible. OWay is a holistic and utterly sustainable range – the use of certified natural and organic raw materials obtained through fair trade, lends themselves to green chemistry completely.

Oway Frequent Use Hair and Scalp Bath

I think I need a massive disclaimer here: I do not have easy hair. Firstly, there’s a LOT of it. It’s thick. It’s knotty. And it’s been highlighted for the better part of ten years so it’s had its fair share of damage over the years. SO, for a shampoo to ‘work‘ for me – it has to tick a lot of boxes!

Because of having a lot of hair – you generally need a lot of product to get your hair clean. This was something that amazed me about the Oway products. A little goes a long way! A really surprisingly small amount of product was needed to get my hair squeeky clean. What’s more is that it doens’t leave your hair feeling stripped or worse- heavy. When you have such thick hair not many products can achieve this.

Key ingredients

Organic Chestnut Proteins lightly strengthens and moisturises the hair, helping it maintain healthy hydration levels.

Oway Frequent Use Conditioner

Having thick hair comes with another problem: knots. So a good conditioner really helps to detangle the knots and soften the hair, leaving it manageable. Now, I’ll admit – when I first lathered it on it felt a little ‘thinner’ than usual. Therefore I was a little worried that perhaps it wasn’t going to help with getting my hair sleek and ah-mazing. However, this was actually something not to worry about at all – my hair was really manageable. And, when it dries it looks really shiny and feels soft to the touch.

The Oway Frequent Use Conditioner is actually suitable for all hair types. It nourishes and moisturises the hair without weighing it down. Additionally it contains essential oils to provide aromatherapy benefits to invigorate the senses.
