Introducing Boss x Meissen: Boss and Meissen, Europe’s oldest porcelain manufacturer that dates back to 1710, have teamed up to bring out an iconic joint collection. Designed by Meissen’s in-house protégé and young sculptor, Maximilian Hagstotz, the collection includes clothing, accessories and teacups. It is themed on the “Big Five” African animals: the elephant, leopard, lion, rhinoceros and water buffalo.
A little more about the unique collection
The Boss x Meissen collection contains a limited edition series of five porcelain cups as well as clothing for men and women. The clothing range is completely black and white and includes a pleated skirt, shirts, t-shirts, sweats, jackets, suits, and coats.
The five animals appear in a pattern embroidered, woven, or printed on the ready-to-wear clothes and accessories in silk, leather, and cashmere. Most importantly, according to Hugo Boss, the animals are seen as symbols of “strength” and “longevity.”
The women’s collection
The collection contains both formal and casual pieces, with some being extremely striking and eye-catching and others being more functional. Some of the pieces are completely unlike anything you would have seen before. An illustration of this is the below cashmere sweater. The unusual lion print combined with the deep ribbing at the cuffs, hemline and turtleneck makes for a bold impact! Imagine having this in your wardrobe..

Where can the Boss x Meissen collection be purchased in South Africa?
The Boss x Meissen collection is currently in South Africa and can be found in the Waterfront and Sandton.
In aid of Elephants for Africa
Hugo Boss will ultimately be making a donation to “Elephants for Africa,” which works to protect elephants in Africa. This is done via research and education in partnership with groups in Botswana. In order to support these efforts locally, Surtee Group, a franchise partner of Hugo Boss in South Africa, is helping to raise funds this festive season. Additionally, to support this cause, Boss and a few local luxury companies are offering a limited series of 10 iconic auction lot items and experiences to raise money for Elephants for Africa’s plight. These items are currently being auctioned silently online and can be viewed here.
